Description
The position of COC Assembly & PLC at the UPE department involves leading the Process Engineering in Engine assembly line for new model introduction/capacity increase projects. The main objective is to introduce Automation in the process to enhance in-process manufacturing quality by utilizing hands-on experience in Assembly PLC systems. The role includes providing up-to-date Material Flows for ongoing process location changes, determining the best flow for process/product diversity management, and implementing Poka Yoke Automation solutions to detect/prevent defects from flowing to the next station till the end customer. Additionally, the position involves Capex Budget Planning/Forecasting for New Model Programs diversity management expenses through Automated solutions to manage regular Engineering Changes & localization projects. The key accountabilities of the role include the establishment of Power train Assembly Processes and Equipment, conducting Feasibility Studies for Power train Assembly and Machining Lines, Capex Budgeting and Planning for new projects, Process Improvement activities, Equipment Planning, Installation, and Handover to operations team, Industrialization Engineering activities, establishment of Engine assembly line processes, implementation of best practices and standards, leading Layout Modification activities, modification of PLC systems, design error-proofing concepts, and driving to achieve the best material flow/process automation levels. The position also involves analyzing problem process constraints, conducting Automation studies, recommending efficient flow of man & material, preparation of cost estimates, review of proposed changes in plant layout, leading job methodization and process allocations, strategic planning for continuous improvement activities, and supporting quality assurance and continuous quality/automation improvements. The role requires effective communication and working relationships with Performance champions, Process KTA, work groups, cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Department, and others as needed. Performance indicators include the management of key metrics, data accuracy, team development, qualifications, experience, technical skills, behavioral skills, competencies, core values, and behaviors. The qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering with 8-10 years of relevant experience, and technical skills in Siemens, Mitsubishi program, FANUC programming, Robot Teaching, Electrical drawing, Andon system, VFD, DC Nut runners programming, Lean Manufacturing Tools/Techniques, and proficiency in computer skills. Behavioral skills required for the role include excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong leadership and team management capabilities, ability to work collaboratively across departments, and with external suppliers, detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
