Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Operations & Quality Control Supervise and manage all coal testing activities, including proximate analysis, ultimate analysis, GCV (Gross Calorific Value) testing, and other quality parameters. Ensure accuracy, quality, and timely reporting of test results. Create and follow SOPs for coal sampling, preparation, and analysis. Review, validate, and approve test reports before submission to clients/management. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure compliance with NABL/ISO 17025 standards. Maintain complete and accurate documentation, calibration records, and QA/QC reports. Coordinate internal and external audits, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve processes. Equipment & Resource Management Ensure proper functioning, calibration, and maintenance of lab instruments. Maintain inventory of chemicals, consumables, and ensure safe lab practices. Team Leadership & Training Train and mentor lab team members. Manage staff and shifts to ensure smooth lab operations. Provide training to staff on skills and safety. Health, Safety & Environment Implement and enforce laboratory safety guidelines for handling coal samples, chemicals, and instruments. Promote safe working practices to prevent accidents, contamination, and environmental hazards. Reporting & Client Interface Prepare and present periodic reports on lab performance, sample analysis, and quality results. Liaise with clients, government agencies, and internal departments to address testing requirements and resolve technical queries. Required Skills Strong knowledge of coal testing methods proximate, ultimate, and calorific value. Familiarity with NABL accreditation, compliance, and audit handling. Proficiency in lab software & data management tools. Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
