CNC & VMC Operator

Job Summary

The CNC & VMC Operator is responsible for operating CNC and Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and VMC machines as per approved programs
• Load and unload components and ensure proper clamping
• Monitor machining operations to ensure accuracy and quality
• Perform basic machine setup (tool offsets, zero setting)
• Inspect components using measuring instruments
• Read and understand engineering drawings and tolerances
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
• Identify tool wear and inform supervisors for replacement
• Maintain production and inspection records
• Follow safety procedures, 5S, and housekeeping standards
• Perform basic machine cleaning and preventive maintenance

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of CNC turning and VMC machining operations
• Basic understanding of G-code and M-code
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Familiarity with measuring tools (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge)
• Attention to detail and quality consciousness
• Willingness to work in shifts

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, CNC Machining, or related field
• 1–15 years of experience as CNC/VMC Operator

Machines & Controls (Preferred)

• CNC Turning Centers, VMC Machines
• Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi / Haas controls

Materials Handled

• Mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, cast iron

Work Environment

• Shop-floor based
• Shift duties as per production requirement

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹40,589.15 per month
