CNC Machine Operator

As a CNC Operator, your main responsibility will be to prepare and operate CNC machines to perform various tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling. You will need to understand the specifications of the task by reading blueprints and mechanical drawings and then translate these instructions into computer commands for the machines to execute accurately. It will be crucial to prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines and conduct test runs to ensure that the outputs meet the required specifications. In addition, you will be required to set the machines to complete full cycles for fabricating a large number of parts, supervise the machines during operation, make necessary adjustments for better results, and inspect the finished products to ensure they meet the specified requirements. Regular maintenance checks on the machinery will also be part of your daily tasks to ensure optimal functionality. To excel in this role, you should have proven experience as a CNC operator, possess skills in operating CNC machinery and precision measurement tools, and be able to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings. Basic computer programming knowledge and familiarity with CAD/CAM software are essential. Mechanical aptitude, good math skills, attention to detail, and a results-driven approach are qualities that will contribute to your success in this position. Effective communication skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferably a certificate or diploma in engineering or a relevant discipline are required. Completion of an apprenticeship program is also necessary. The ability to work a full-time schedule during the day shift is essential for this role.
