CNC Laser Machine Operator

As an operator for CNC laser cutting machines, your primary role involves operating and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to cut metal sheets (MS, SS, aluminum, etc.) with precision, ensuring high quality, and meeting production deadlines. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Laser Machine Operation** - Setting up and operating CNC laser cutting machines for cutting metal sheets of various thicknesses. - Loading metal sheets onto the machine table and securing them properly. - Selecting correct parameters (power, speed, gas type, nozzle) based on metal type and job specifications. - **Design File & Program Execution** - Importing and executing cutting programs from design files (DXF, DWG, etc.). - Adjusting machine settings and nesting as per job requirements to minimize material wastage. - Collaborating with the CAD or programming team to troubleshoot file or path issues. - **Quality Inspection** - Inspecting cut parts for burrs, dimensional accuracy, and edge quality. - Using calipers, tape measures, and gauges to verify cuts match technical drawings. - Segregating defective pieces and reporting issues for rework or adjustment. - **Routine Maintenance & Safety** - Performing daily cleaning and minor maintenance (e.g., lens cleaning, nozzle inspection, filter checks). - Monitoring assist gas levels (O, N) and replacing cylinders as needed. - Following all safety protocols including PPE, fire precautions, and machine guarding rules. - **Coordination & Reporting** - Coordinating with material handling and finishing teams for smooth job flow. - Maintaining accurate records of output, rejected pieces, machine hours, and downtime. - Reporting breakdowns, maintenance issues, or quality deviations promptly to supervisors. This factory-floor based job may require standing, lifting, and working near heat and machinery. Shift-based work with overtime flexibility may be necessary during peak production periods.
