CMM Operator/standard room incharge

A CMM Operator in the Automotive Industry is responsible operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).

Key Responsibilities of a CMM Operator in Automotive Manufacturing

• Operating CMM Machines – Using CMMs to measure and inspect automotive parts against engineering blueprints and CAD models.
• Interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) – Ensuring compliance with critical tolerances for safety and performance.
• Programming CMM Software – Writing or modifying measurement programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or Mitutoyo MCOSMOS to automate inspections.
• Performing Quality Inspections – Checking machined components, castings, plastic parts, or assemblies for defects, warpage, or deviations.
• Documentation & Reporting – Generating inspection reports and analyzing data for quality assurance and process improvement.
• Collaborating with Engineers & Production Teams – Working with design, production, and quality engineers to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Calibrating & Maintaining CMM Machines – Ensuring accuracy by calibrating equipment and troubleshooting any measurement inconsistencies.

Skills Required for a CMM Operator in the Automotive Industry

✔ Proficiency in CMM operation & programming (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, etc.)
✔ Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
✔ Experience with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
✔ Understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
✔ Ability to troubleshoot measurement discrepancies✔ Basic machining or manufacturing knowledge

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
