Role & responsibilities 1. Repairs and maintains equipment and performs other miscellaneous duties within their capabilities . 2. Job Summary: Assists engineers, under moderate supervision, in applying technical principles of dimensional measurement science related to test systems and processes. This role involves performing product and component testing, programming and operating Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE), and ensuring data quality and laboratory standards are maintained. Key Responsibilities: Conducts basic product and component testing using a variety of measurement methods, including automated procedures. Programs, trains, and operates Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE). Assists lab managers, engineers, and customers in selecting appropriate test methods and interpreting measurement data. Aids customers in understanding product specifications and applying measurement data. Participates in inter-laboratory comparisons and measurement assurance programs. Supports uncertainty studies related to measurement or calibration results. Helps maintain the laboratory quality system by applying knowledge of quality standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and Cummins procedures. Manages procurement of necessary lab services and consumables. Ensures proper maintenance and calibration of M&TE within the scope of work. Assists with reporting data quality metrics and continuous improvement activities related to data quality and lab systems. Follows laboratory strategy, SIPOC process, and scorecard for operational efficiency. Maintenance and care of CMM, Roundness, Contour, and Roughness Measuring Machines. Ensuring timely calibration of measurement equipment. Maintaining good housekeeping standards in the laboratory. Conducting inspection and calibration activities at specified temperatures.

Ensures products received or produced meet technical specifications. Works under moderate supervision. Key Responsibilities Verify the final quality of products on the production line. Compare the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications to identify defects. Separate products that do not meet the desired technical specifications, using basic and/or complex measurement techniques and equipment. Document products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems. Train others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming product, and documentation. Follow the norms and standards of quality defined by the company. Skills and Experience Work experience with IATF 16949. Good knowledge of AIAG Core Tools. Hands-on experience with FARO Arm (Portable CMM). Knowledge of drawing reading and GD&T. Requires some work experience and intermediate-level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience.
