As a ServiceNow Developer, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and customizing ServiceNow applications and modules, particularly focusing on IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) aspects such as Incident, Change, Problem, Request, Knowledge, Discovery, CMDB, Event Management, and Orchestration. You will be involved in creating and configuring various elements like Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, and Workflows. Additionally, your role will entail implementing and managing ServiceNow Discovery, MID Servers, and ensuring CMDB health. Developing integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and custom integrations will also be a crucial part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into specifications, and deliver robust solutions. Furthermore, optimizing performance and scalability of ServiceNow instances, participating in testing, QA, and production deployment activities, and maintaining technical documentation for implementations and customizations are essential aspects of the role. Collaborating with platform architects and business stakeholders to align with the overall ServiceNow roadmap is also a key responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess at least 7 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and administration, with a solid understanding of core ITSM modules and ITOM components. Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and Flow Designer, along with a deep understanding of CMDB structure, data models, and dependency mapping, is required. Experience with MID Servers, credentials management, probes/sensors, custom applications, portal widgets, Access Control Rules (ACLs), UI Policies, Data Policies, version upgrades, clone management, patching activities, Agile/Scrum development practices, and familiarity with DevOps, App Engine, or SecOps are valuable assets. Certification as a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is mandatory, while a Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM or ITOM is preferred. Soft skills such as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and a passion for learning are essential for success in this role.
