Job Title : Cloudflare WAF Engineer Location : Bangalore / Pune Experience : 5+ Years Employment Type : Full Time Job Description We are looking for a skilled and experienced Cloudflare WAF Engineer to join our security and operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cloudflares security ecosystem, scripting knowledge for automation (Python, API, Terraform), and a solid understanding of web application firewall (WAF) configurations. You will play a key role in protecting customer domains , ensuring robust automation , and maintaining a secure and reliable Cloudflare infrastructure . Key Responsibilities : Automate daily tasks using Python, Terraform, and Cloudflare API Configure and manage WAF rules to defend against threats including BFA/DDOS attacks Handle SSL/TLS certificate management and domain migrations Implement IP, GEO, ASN, OFAC, and user-agent based whitelisting/blacklisting Maintain and optimize Key-Value (KV) entries and Worker scripts Monitor and analyze security incidents , and respond with remediation plans Set up and manage log push jobs for real-time monitoring and analytics Enforce and manage Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) policies Decommission domains and ensure secure zone migration between Cloudflare accounts Collaborate with internal teams to prioritize and execute security & ops projects Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and standard operating procedures Requirements : 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloudflare WAF Engineer Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, API integrations, and Terraform Proficient in Cloudflare security features : WAF, DNS, TLS, KV, Worker Code Experience with public cloud platforms : AWS, Azure, or GCP Familiarity with OWASP rules , managed WAF rulesets , and bot management Excellent troubleshooting and incident response skills Understanding of agile processes , including tools like Jira and ServiceNow Strong communication and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications : Knowledge of machine learning techniques for bot detection Certifications in cloud security or related technologies

Cloudflare WAF & Web Security: Configure and manage Cloudflare WAF to protect applications from OWASP Top 10 threats. Implement custom firewall rules, bot mitigation, rate limiting, and API security policies. Secure applications with Cloudflare Zero Trust, Access policies, and mTLS authentication. Cloudflare DNS & DDoS Mitigation: Manage Cloudflare DNS, ensuring DNSSEC implementation for secure name resolution. Configure Anycast routing, load balancing, and traffic steering for global redundancy. Implement DDoS protection, malware filtering, and phishing prevention strategies. F5 Load Balancer (BIG IP LTM, GTM, ASM): Deploy, configure, and optimize F5 BIG IP Load Balancers (LTM & GTM) for traffic distribution. Implement SSL/TLS offloading, iRules scripting, and advanced traffic management. Integrate F5 with WAF, DDoS protection, and SIEM solutions for enhanced security posture. Fortinet & Palo Alto Firewall Security: Configure and manage Fortinet FortiGate and Palo Alto NGFWs for network security. Implement firewall rules, IPS/IDS policies, VPNs, and threat intelligence monitoring. Optimize SSL decryption, URL filtering, anti malware protection, and application layer security. Utilize FortiAnalyzer and Palo Alto Panorama for firewall logging, reporting, and automation. Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Utilize Cloudflare Logs, F5 analytics, Firewall logs, and SIEM (Splunk, ELK, Sentinel) for threat detection. Investigate security incidents, apply mitigation strategies, and conduct root cause analysis. Collaborate with SOC teams to proactively manage and respond to security threats.

*Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience) *Knowledge on Splunk, Firewall, and any Security tools along with CloudFlare WAF *Knowledge on Cloud Security * Experience working in a technical support or helpdesk role is preferred * Familiarity with enterprise security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, web application firewall, identity and access management solutions, etc. * Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.) * Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus * Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCSP or GIAC are advantageous but not required * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously * Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting * Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes * Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and support
