As a Professional, Software Development Engineering in the Billing platform infrastructure team at Fiserv, you will be supporting Clover SaaS and App Market revenue metering and settlement. Working closely with Clover finance and compliance business counterparts at regional and global scales, we are seeking talented Senior Engineers to assist in deploying and operating our next generation of billing software. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing quality, reliable, and scalable infrastructure to uphold our Clover product. Your responsibilities will include contributing to project design, development, and delivery, with a specific focus on creating new features and tools to aid our product and operational teams. Collaboration with engineering to enhance our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and implement workflow improvements will be key. You will also work closely with QA for system level production scale, validation, and qualification of all changes going into production. Automation using available tools or developing toolsets to enhance operational best practices will be part of your routine. Additionally, collaborating with Clover's SRE, SecOps, and production CloudOps teams to automate next-generation billing platform deployment, operations, SRE tasks, customer service, data analytics/metric capture, and financial processes will be essential. Monitoring, triaging, and mitigating issues in integration, stage, and production environments will also fall under your purview. Ensuring critical operational requirements are integrated into all new features will be a key focus area. To be successful in this role, you should possess a Bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or technical discipline, along with at least 5 years of experience in Java, REST, microservice architectures, failovers, and resilience. Proficiency in SRE skills using common toolsets like Jenkins, Grafana, and DataDog, as well as scripting skills, especially in zsh and Python, will be necessary. Knowledge of cloud patterns, architectures, best practices, and Infrastructure as Code, along with a strong relational database background, particularly in MySQL, is required. Experience in developing REST web services using JSON and/or XML for structured data representation will be beneficial. It would be advantageous to have familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and Terraform, as well as strong data analysis skills to identify trends early and mitigate them proactively. About Role Working within a global team, the role will be responsible for implementing IT initiatives that supports and continually improves our operational efficiency, driving automation, improving cost effectiveness, and creating operational excellence. Will include championing technology innovation and change, working with innovation stakeholders across the business, creating a culture of collaboration. Requires previous experience of implementing Kubernetes within an organization, and to be proficient with infrastructure / platform automation, with the ability to evangelize these across the organization. Is primarily focused on services, ensuring we meet their SLAs and efficiency targets, providing support for solutions based upon principles of high-availability, agility, scale and efficiency. Requires working with: Agile frameworks Infrastructure As Code Infrastructure and Network technologies. Orchestration of build and deployment of containerized environments. Building and maintaining virtualization automation, monitoring, and reporting tools. Troubleshooting, resolving, and assisting in complex environmental issue resolution. Participation in automation initiatives driving change and efficiencies. Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other members of the team through retros, planning meetings and daily standups. All About You 3+ years experience with building and operating on-premises Kubernetes (ideally OpenShift). CKA, CKAD, or CKS certifications a plus. Solid infrastructure experience. Networking, storage, and compute (ideally VMWare). Demonstrated ability to organize, manage, plan and control several concurrent initiatives with conflicting needs. Track record of successful delivery in a large enterprise environment. Familiarity or working knowledge of public cloud patterns (AWS/EKS, Azure/AKS); container tools (Kubernetes, Docker); pipeline tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform); ancillary (Artifactory, Hashicorp Vault); logging and monitoring (Loki, ELK, Prometheus, Kibana, Splunk, Dynatrace); scripting (Python, Bash, Go).
