Cloud Ops Engineer (IC)- Manager - BLR/Pun/GGN Responsibilities Building, operating, and continuously enhancing the KPMG Insight Platform (KIP) and associated supporting projects. Senior DevOps Engineer Level 2 colleagues are experienced professionals who bring deep knowledge of their discipline to both service teams or engagements. They have mastered the art of being an effective individual contributor across multiple projects or engagements either within a team setting or as an individual taking the project from inception to delivered. They are the go to person when the Lead of the engagement or overall project is away or unavailable and has the ability to steer the ship as and when required. They are the default Lead Engineer when the Lead is away or unavailable or when required and have built the respect from the client and team to do so. Understands and despises technical debt within a project or engagements and strives to eradicate where possible convincing both peers and clients of the importance. Regularly coaches and mentors engineers across all capabilities within Engineering and where possible, performance manages colleagues within same domain. A very keen contributor of sharing knowledge to various levels of skillset from technical to senior non-technical stakeholder either internally or externally, directly to clients. Contributes to open source projects or industry more generally, representing themselves and the firm. They also are heavily involved in the recruitment and hiring process of technical candidates reviewing applications, tech tests and conducting interviews. They still seek guidance from peers and seniors as well as nurturing the relationships with both internal and clients to drive brand attraction and revenue. Skills/ Qualifications Strong knowledge of Azure & M365. Ability to work on UK Gov projects. Proven team management experience. Experience of UK internal processes. Understanding of UK Advisory direction. Responsibilities: Manage Azure cloud resources such as compute, storage and networking to meet the needs of applications and services. Implement infrastructure configurations and manage changes to maintain consistency across environments. Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline and simplify repetitive tasks, improving efficiency and reducing human error. Maintain monitoring tools to track the performance, availability and security of cloud services, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, collaborating with development and IT teams to minimize downtime and maintain service quality. Work closely with development, IT and business teams to ensure alignment with project goals and provide guidance on cloud best practices. Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies, platforms and trends, continuously improving cloud operations and adapting to changing requirements. Eligibility Criteria: Minimum of 2 years of experience in solutioning, delivery, implementation or support of cloud infrastructure platform and services Good experience in computer/storage and virtualization infrastructure, network and cyber security design and protocols Hands-on experience in setting up Azure cloud platform. Familiarity with Azure VMs, Storage accounts, Vault integration, Defender, Insights etc Should have adequate command on Linux and Shell Scripting language Good understanding of monitoring concepts, alert mechanisms, log monitoring, anomaly detections, creation, and setup of dashboards. This role ensures the cloud environments are efficient, secure, scalable, and fully operational to meet the business and technological needs of the organization. The Cloud Operations Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality services and drive improvements in cloud architecture, automation, and resource optimization. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee and manage cloud operations to ensure seamless service delivery and optimized performance. Expertise in managing cloud infrastructure across major platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proven experience in cloud operations, service management, and delivering high-quality cloud services on a scale. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cloud operations. Manage incident response, problem resolution, and ensure effective root cause analysis. Implement cloud automation and orchestration processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Monitor cloud performance, security, and compliance, ensuring that SLAs and KPIs are consistently met. Lead and mentor cloud operations teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Develop and maintain operational documentation, including runbooks, incident reports, and operational procedures. Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, and Agile methodologies. Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, microservices, and containers (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker). Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and orchestration. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure that capacity planning and disaster recovery procedures are in place for cloud infrastructure. Conduct regular backups, failover testing, and ensure business continuity. Maintain detailed documentation for cloud operations, configurations, and processes. Report on cloud usage, incidents, and performance to senior management. Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends. Recommend and implement new tools and technologies to improve cloud infrastructure and operations. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS & certifications Minimum of 8 to 12 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in cloud operations and infrastructure management. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
