Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Center & Cloud Infrastructure Architect to

design and implement the foundational infrastructure for a large-scale, multi-region

cloud platform for a major Cisco enterprise customer. This role focuses on the core

infrastructure layer including compute, storage, networking, and data center facilities

that will serve as the foundation for cloud services deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Foundation Design

• Design multi-data center infrastructure with regional and availability zone

architecture similar to AWS regions

• Architect compute infrastructure including server farms, hypervisor layers, and

bare-metal provisioning systems with modern technology like Nitro

• Design storage infrastructure encompassing block, file, and object storage

systems with multi-site replication

• Create network fabric designs including spine-leaf architectures, overlay

networks, and inter-DC connectivity, with resiliency like AWS GCP.

Data Center Architecture

• Architect infrastructure for high availability across multiple availability zones
• Design disaster recovery and business continuity infrastructure across regions
• Plan capacity scaling strategies for compute, storage, and network resources

Network Infrastructure Design

• Design core networking infrastructure including routers, switches, load balancers,

and firewalls

• Architect software-defined networking (SDN) solutions and network virtualization

layers

• Design inter-data center networking including WAN optimization and dedicated

circuits

• Create network segmentation and security zone architectures

Infrastructure Automation Framework

• Design Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks for automated infrastructure

provisioning and Code through AI. (Infra as code code by AI intent By User)

• Architect infrastructure APIs and interfaces for programmatic resource

management

• Design configuration management and infrastructure drift detection systems
• Create infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and self-healing capabilities

Hardware and Platform Integration

• Evaluate and select server, storage, and networking hardware platforms
• Design integration strategies for Cisco UCS, networking, and storage solutions
• Architect hypervisor and container runtime infrastructure
• Design GPU clusters and high-performance computing infrastructure for AI/ML

workloads

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 15+ years in data center design, architecture, and operations
• 10+ years in cloud infrastructure architecture and large-scale distributed systems
• 8+ years with infrastructure automation and programmable infrastructure
• Experience designing infrastructure for enterprise customers with 1000+ servers

Core Technical Skills

• Data Center Design: Deep expertise in facility design, power/cooling systems,

and physical infrastructure

• Server Architecture: Advanced knowledge of x86, ARM, and GPU server

platforms

• Storage Systems: Expert-level understanding of SAN, NAS, object storage, and

distributed storage architectures

• Network Infrastructure: Mastery of switching, routing, load balancing, and data

center networking protocols

• Virtualization: Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, KVM, and bare-

metal provisioning systems

Infrastructure Technologies

• Cisco Technologies: Deep knowledge of UCS, Nexus switching, ACI, and Cisco

storage solutions

• Automation Tools: Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for

infrastructure automation

• Cloud Platforms: Understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP infrastructure services

and architectural patterns

• Monitoring Systems: Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools

(Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, etc.)

• Container Infrastructure: Knowledge of Docker, containerd, and container

runtime environments

Specialized Expertise

• High-performance networking (InfiniBand, RDMA, high-speed Ethernet)
• GPU infrastructure and CUDA/ROCm platforms for AI/ML workloads
• Distributed storage systems (Ceph, GlusterFS, or proprietary solutions)
• Infrastructure security and compliance frameworks
• Capacity planning and performance modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hyperscale infrastructure design (10,000+ servers)
• Previous work with telecommunications or cloud service providers
• Knowledge of edge computing and distributed cloud architectures
• Certifications: CCIE Data Center, VMware VCDX, or equivalent expert-level

certifications

• Experience with infrastructure cost optimization and FinOps practices

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor& degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Master& degree in relevant technical discipline preferred
• Professional certifications in networking, virtualization, or cloud platforms
