Cloud Backend Developer (with Java/Python)

The company Capitalmind Asset Management Private Limited manages the Capitalmind Mutual Fund with capital from its parent company Capitalmind Financial Services Private Limited. It has introduced mutual fund schemes for retail investors, HNIs, and corporates to help them achieve their long-term financial objectives. The management team consists of experienced professionals in fund management, compliance, risk, marketing, investor servicing, and operations. As an early engineering hire, you will have a significant role in shaping the technology stack and infrastructure of the company. Collaboration with investment, operations, and compliance teams will be essential in developing tools and systems crucial to our workflows. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. - 3-6 years of experience in Backend software development. - Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, or Golang (experience in multiple languages is a plus). - Desirable working knowledge of JavaScript. - Hands-on experience with AWS services is preferred. - Familiarity with REST APIs, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems. - Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices. - A product-oriented mindset with a willingness to comprehend and address genuine business requirements. - Exposure to finance, trading systems, or data platforms is advantageous but not mandatory. Key Roles and Responsibilities: - Design and construct robust, scalable backend systems to support internal operations and client-facing applications. - Develop and manage cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS, utilizing services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, and IAM. - Collaborate with third-party vendors for data feeds and operational tooling. - Establish deployment pipelines and automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. - Ensure the incorporation of security, logging, and observability best practices in systems from the outset.
