Design & Concept Development: Conduct thorough market research and trend analysis to identify new design directions, fabrics, and colors. Develop and present creative concepts for new collections, aligned with the brand's aesthetic and target audience. Sketch and illustrate original designs, creating both hand-drawn and digital flats and technical drawings. Technical Design & Prototyping: Create detailed tech packs, including specifications for fabrics, trims, measurements, and construction details. Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments from vendors. Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, providing clear feedback for adjustments and refinements. Collaborate with the production team and pattern makers to ensure designs are technically sound and can be produced efficiently. Production Oversight: Monitor the production process to ensure the final product meets design specifications and quality standards. Conduct quality control checks on finished garments. Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, including suppliers, production teams, and management. Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, competitive landscape, and industry news. Attend fashion shows, trade fairs, and exhibitions to gather inspiration and network with industry professionals. Portfolio & Documentation: Maintain a well-organized and updated design portfolio. Keep accurate records of all design processes, from initial sketches to final product details.
