Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and validate automotive body systems and components (BIW, closures, trim, exterior, and interior parts). Ensure compliance with safety, durability, weight, cost, and manufacturing feasibility targets. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CAE, NVH, safety, styling, manufacturing, and suppliers) to deliver engineering solutions. Conduct DFMEA, DFA/DFM, and tolerance stack-up analysis for body components. Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Work on CAD modeling, drawing release, and PLM systems for part development. Benchmark competitor vehicles and implement innovative solutions to improve performance and cost efficiency. Ensure regulatory compliance with global standards and homologation requirements. Coordinate with suppliers for tooling feasibility, cost optimization, and timely delivery of components.
