Clinical Support Specialist

Job Summary: A broken or underperforming surgical instrument can have serious consequencesincluding operating room (OR) downtime, surgeon dissatisfaction, and adverse patient outcomes. This role is designed to proactively mitigate those risks by providing expert, on-site instrument assessments and support. The Clinical Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, longevity, and safety of surgical instrument sets through hands-on evaluation, training, and consultation. Key Responsibilities Instrument Set Evaluation Examine, assess, and document the overall condition of customer instrument sets. Identify broken, damaged, or worn instruments. Provide recommendations to reorder, dispose of, or repair instruments. Advise on how to tune and maintain functional instruments needing attention. On-Site Support Deliver direct support within the OR and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Offer hands-on assistance during procedures or reprocessing cycles as needed. Reporting & Documentation Prepare and deliver a comprehensive written report of findings (template provided). Maintain accurate records to support traceability and continuous improvement. Training & Education Train OR staff and SPD personnel on the proper care, handling, and maintenance of instruments. Demonstrate expertise in the use of cleaning and handling protocols as defined in OEM booklets. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 10 lbs.
