Role Overview: As an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist at Borders General Hospital, you will have the exciting opportunity to join the mental health pharmacy team and provide care to patients in both the hospital campus and community settings. Your role within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and pharmacy teams will involve leading, developing, and providing clinical pharmacy services in specialist areas, while also supporting the delivery of regional and national healthcare programs. You will play a crucial role in enabling patient-centered care and implementing excellence within the mental health specialty. Key Responsibilities: - Lead, develop, and provide clinical pharmacy services in mental health specialty areas - Support the delivery of regional and national healthcare programs - Work closely with multidisciplinary staff to ensure high-quality patient-centered care - Provide professional leadership for service development and adaptation to the changing healthcare environment - Promote medicines governance, patient safety initiatives, and future developments in electronic medicines management - Collaborate with clinical technicians and pharmacy support staff to enhance patient care Qualifications Required: - Good base of clinical knowledge with a specialization interest in psychiatry - Post foundation RPS accreditation (or equivalent) - Ideally, hold an Independent Prescriber qualification - Reflective practitioner with therapeutic knowledge, practical skills, and diverse experience - Strong team working and interpersonal skills - Ability to provide professional leadership for service development Additional Details: The Borders General Hospital Pharmacy Department is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among its workforce, aiming for true representation and respect for all employees.
