As a Principal MySQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a highly scalable MySQL database setup. Your role will involve developing and optimizing database designs for new applications, as well as troubleshooting database issues to ensure system availability and scalability. You will also be expected to suggest tools and processes for the identification and management of database infrastructure components. To excel in this role, you should have knowledge of the installation method of MySQL and possess significant general system administration skills on UNIX/HP, Linux, and AWS Linux. Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, and database consistency checks using different utilities is essential. Additionally, you must have experience with AWS RDS, AWS backup, replication, and snapshot, with familiarity working with the AWS Console being a plus. Experience in backup and monitoring for larger databases is required, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills are essential, as is previous experience in team handling.
