Job Title : Hospital Housekeeping Staff Department : Housekeeping Location : VIJAYA MULTISPECIALITY HOSPITAL,TIRUPATHUR Reporting To : Housekeeping Supervisor / Facility Manager Job Summary : The Hospital Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment throughout the hospital premises including wards, operation theatres, patient rooms, outpatient areas, offices, and public spaces. Key Responsibilities : Cleaning & Sanitization : Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operation theatres, and bathrooms. Dusting, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming floors. Regular sanitization of high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, bed rails, etc. Emptying and disposing of waste and biomedical waste as per protocol. Waste Management : Segregate waste into general, recyclable, and biomedical categories. Ensure proper disposal according to hospital and government guidelines. Laundry Assistance : Collect, transport, and distribute clean and soiled linen as required. Maintain cleanliness of staff uniforms and patient garments (if assigned). Inventory Management : Report shortages of cleaning materials and supplies to the supervisor. Use chemicals and cleaning agents safely and correctly. Compliance & Safety : Follow infection control policies strictly. Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times as per the area protocol. Report any maintenance issues like broken equipment, leaks, or hazards. Support Roles : Assist nursing and administrative staff during patient transfers or emergencies. Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests (spillages, disinfection, etc.). Qualifications & Skills : Minimum 8th/10th pass Prior housekeeping experience in hospitals or clinics preferred Knowledge of hygiene, infection control, and safety practices Physically fit to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods Honest, punctual, and disciplined Working Hours : Rotational shifts (Morning, Night) Weekly off as per duty schedule SALARY: negotiable Other Notes : Must maintain patient privacy and hospital confidentiality at all times.
