Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Bharatanatyam dance instructor and/or performer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Bharatanatyam, a love for teaching or performing, and the ability to inspire students and audiences through their art.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Bharatanatyam dance classes to students of various age groups and skill levels.
• Design and implement structured lesson plans based on traditional Bharatanatyam syllabus (e.g., Kalakshetra or other recognized styles).
• Prepare students for stage performances, examinations, and cultural events.
• Perform in solo and group Bharatanatyam productions, both in-house and at external venues.
• Choreograph dance pieces and collaborate with musicians and other artists as needed.
• Maintain discipline, motivation, and enthusiasm in the classroom.
• Promote classical dance and culture through workshops, lectures, and community outreach.

Qualifications:

• Formal training in Bharatanatyam with a minimum of years of experience.
• Arangetram (stage debut) preferred.
• Experience in teaching and/or performing Bharatanatyam.
• Excellent knowledge of theory, mudras, abhinaya, and nattuvangam.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluency in [Tamil/English – as applicable].

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: ₹5,000.00 - ₹8,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Medavakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
