Key Responsibilities Review, code, and assign claims to appropriate diaries. Act as a point of contact for field operations regarding claim investigations. Investigate claim details, collect evidence, and examine the facts of each case. Determine and place reserves on claims within the delegated authority limits. Engage with claimants, witnesses, police, and hospitals as part of the investigation and settlement process. Negotiate and settle claims, seeking approvals as required. Submit claims to Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), including litigated claims, along with required documentation. Communicate field-related trends or safety issues to supervisors or HSSE personnel. Prepare reports or conduct analysis as assigned. Collaborate professionally with internal teams and external parties, upholding bp's mission, vision, values, and commitment to diversity. Experience and Qualifications Graduate with a minimum of 2 years of experience in claims or insurance. 2 years of full-time claims adjusting experience preferred. Experience in investigation or technical knowledge related to claims handling is an advantage. Associate in Claims (AIC) certification or other relevant industry designations is a plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The Customers & Products (C&P) business area of bp is establishing a Business and Technology Centre (BTC) in Pune, India, to enhance customer experience and drive innovation. The BTC will focus on building global capabilities at scale, utilizing technology, and developing deep expertise. It will play a core and connected role in the business, bringing together colleagues from various parts of C&P and collaborating with other functions across bp. This is an exciting opportunity to join bp and the Customers & Products BTC. About the role: As a Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for managing claims related to general liability, auto liability, and property claims submitted by field locations. This pivotal role involves collecting evidence, investigating claim allegations, reviewing damages, determining liability, and negotiating with claimants. What you will deliver: - Review and assign claims to diaries as needed. - Serve as a point of contact for field locations during claim investigations. - Determine required reserves and place claims in accordance with authority delegation. - Correspond with claimants, witnesses, and other experts during the investigation and settlement process. - Negotiate settlements for claims with necessary approvals. - Submit claims to Third-Party Administrators (TPA) as per requirements, including litigated claims. - Communicate trends or corrective opportunities to supervisors or safety and loss prevention personnel. - Complete reports or analyses as directed. - Interact with internal and external stakeholders in alignment with the Company's mission, vision, values, and diversity statement. What you will need to be successful! (Experience and Qualification): - A graduate with 2 years of claims or insurance experience. - Associate in Claims (AIC) certification or other related insurance industry experience is a plus. - 2 years of full-time claims adjusting experience is preferred. - Experience in investigation or key technical knowledge to provide insight into claims management is advantageous. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Willingness to work the shift from 6:00 pm to 3:00 am IST. You will work with: This role collaborates with operation team members in the field, Third-Party Claim Administrator, Treasury Team, Finance Team, Legal team, and HSSE team to address Safety Related concerns.
