As a valued member of our India Global Resource Center at CDM Smith, you will play a crucial role in contributing to our vision by taking on the responsibilities of a Project Technical/Task Lead or Primary Design Engineer. Your focus will primarily involve the design of conveyance systems, specifically water and wastewater pipelines, as well as providing remote construction support. This dynamic role will require effective coordination with team members from diverse engineering disciplines across our local and global offices in the United States, Middle East, Australia, and Germany. Your main objective will be to develop designs ranging from basic to highly complex in order to fulfill client project requirements. You will also be responsible for offering technical guidance and training to junior staff members, mentoring them for their professional growth within the discipline and the firm. In addition, you may oversee the work of junior engineers on various projects, ensuring quality assurance and control of key deliverables while reviewing the work products of less experienced staff. Your involvement in new business development will be crucial, as you will contribute to the technical approach and effort estimation for potential projects. We are particularly interested in candidates who can enhance our technical expertise in water conveyance systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in evaluating, planning, rehabilitating, and designing water conveyance systems such as sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and transmission/distribution systems. Your expertise will play a vital role in developing and delivering innovative technical solutions to meet the needs of our clients effectively. Additional competencies desired for this role include: - Leading or participating in water/sewer/stormwater conveyance projects. - Proficiency in Civil3D software for tasks such as grading roads, lot grading, corridor modeling, and earthwork quantity calculations. - Conducting engineering analysis for planning, studies, and detailed pipeline designs. - Providing project management assistance and technical leadership. - Presenting technical solutions effectively to peers, clients, and stakeholders. - Developing engineering technical reports, studies, and pipeline work specifications. - Sound knowledge of pipe and pressure network modeling in Civil3D. Furthermore, your role will involve providing engineering services during construction support, utilizing software such as AutoCAD, BIM360, ProjectWise, and Navisworks. You will also contribute to CDM Smith's Technical Knowledge Management by creating white papers and technical design documentation. Your familiarity and experience with asset management programs will be an asset in this position. Minimum Qualifications: - Master's degree in Civil, Water Resource and Environmental, Pipeline Engineering, or a related discipline. - 15+ years of relevant experience. - International travel may be required.
