Civil Site Engineer

Position:

Role Summary

Responsible for supervising and managing all civil works for Velammal Group of Schools across multiple campuses, ensuring quality, safety and timely completion of new works, renovations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and monitor civil works for school buildings, hostels, amenities and external development across assigned locations.
• Interpret architectural / structural drawings and BOQs, check feasibility on site, and ensure execution as per design and codes.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants and school management for work scheduling, measurements, and issue resolution.
• Track daily progress, prepare site reports, measurement sheets and bills; highlight delays, risks and cost impacts in advance.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, safety norms and statutory regulations at all sites.
• Conduct site inspections for repair/maintenance requests from campuses and propose technically sound solutions.
• Support periodic audits of buildings and infrastructure and maintain all technical documentation, drawings and records.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• BE / BTech in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• 8–12 years of proven experience as Civil / Site Engineer in building construction, preferably institutional / school / campus projects.
• Strong knowledge of RCC, finishing, waterproofing, services coordination and basic geotechnical / foundation aspects.
• Ability to manage multiple sites, contractors and deadlines simultaneously; strong project tracking and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office for drawings, quantity take-offs and documentation.

Mobility Requirement

• Willingness to travel frequently between different Velammal school locations as per project needs.
• Owning and using a two-wheeler for site travel is mandatory (travel allowance as per company policy).
