Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute

  preventive and corrective maintenance

  of civil assets:foundry shop floors, refractory-lined pits (where applicable), machine foundations, utility trenches, stormwater drains, culverts, internal roads, parking areas, storage yards.
• Conduct routine

  condition assessments

  (visual checks, crack mapping, settlement/level checks, water ingress/leak audits).
• Support

  layout changes

  and

  installation of equipment

  (e.g., sand plant, moulding lines, EOT cranes, compressors) by preparing civil drawings/BOQs and coordinating foundation readiness.

B. IMS (Integrated Management System) Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain and update

  IMS procedures, SOPs, WI (Work Instructions)

  for civil maintenance and minor projects; ensure current revisions are controlled and accessible.
• Participate in

  internal audits

  , support

  external/third-party audits

  , and close

  NCRs (Non-Conformities)

  with robust

  CAPA

  (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
• Conduct

  risk assessments/JSA

  for civil tasks; document

  PPE

  requirements and

  Permit-to-Work (PTW)

  processes (e.g., working at heights, hot work).
• Prepare and submit periodic

  IMS reports

  (compliance dashboards, action trackers, training records for team/contractors).

C. Administrative & Coordination

• Prepare

  BOQs, estimates, budgets

  , and

  cost control

  reports for civil maintenance and minor works.
• Develop and update

  trackers

  (work requests, backlog, PM compliance, NCR/CAPA status, document revisions) and circulate

  MIS reports

  weekly/monthly.
• Coordinate with

  Production, EHS, Quality, Utility, Stores, and Projects

  to ensure minimal downtime and smooth execution.
• Support

  capex proposals

  with technical notes, drawings, and ROI/benefit analyses.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• B.E./

  B.

  Tech in Civil Engineering

  from a recognized institution.

• 34 years

  of hands-on experience in industrial/foundry or heavy manufacturing civil maintenance/projects.
• Proficiency in

  reading drawings

  , preparing

  BOQs

  , basic

  AutoCAD

  (or equivalent), and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of

  IMS/ISO standards

  (9001/14001/45001), document control, and audit preparedness.
• Strong

  contractor management

  ,

  cost control

  , and

  stakeholder coordination

  skills.
