Role Overview: As a Principal Engineer- HVAC (Building Engineering) at AECOM based in Bengaluru/Gurgaon, India, you will play a critical role in designing and developing plumbing systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations. You will serve as a senior technical resource, providing specialized technical input to studies and designs while leading HVAC system design for complex commercial, residential, and data center projects. Your responsibilities will also include conducting energy modeling, collaborating with architects and other engineering disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers within the HVAC design team. Key Responsibilities: - Experience in retail and hospitality medium to large projects - Designs and develops plumbing systems for various building types, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations - Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise - Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects - Leads HVAC system design for complex commercial, residential, and data center projects - Conducts energy modeling and analysis to optimize HVAC system performance - Collaborates with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions - Develops and implements sustainable design strategies to meet energy efficiency goals - Oversees the selection and sizing of HVAC equipment and components - Mentors junior engineers and provides technical guidance to the HVAC design team - Participates in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions - Conducts site visits to assess existing conditions and verify installation of HVAC systems - Troubleshoots and resolves complex HVAC design issues during construction and commissioning phases Qualifications: - Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university - Well versed with ASHRAE/CIBSE/NFPA standards and regulations - Experience in commercial, residential, data center, and infrastructure projects from different geographies - USA, Canada, ANZ Region - Experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer specialized in HVAC Design - Capable of leading discussions with the Client and leading projects for the HVAC Disciplines - Able to make design decisions independently - Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred - Proficiency in HVAC design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or similar BIM tools - Strong knowledge of energy modeling software (e.g., eQUEST, EnergyPlus, or IES-VE),
