Position Overview: The Data Analyst Intern will work closely with our data science and engineering teams to analyze and interpret large datasets, generate meaningful insights, and support critical projects in aerospace technologies. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world problems, develop key data analysis skills, and contribute to mission-critical projects in space exploration. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data and technology, along with a strong willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and consistency. Help perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and insights within datasets. Support the development of data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to technical and non-technical teams. Assist in generating reports and presenting data-driven insights to help inform decision-making processes. Help design and implement basic data models and statistical analyses to solve real-world aerospace challenges. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and assist in meeting project objectives. Gain experience with data analysis tools and technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, Excel, Tableau, etc.). Contribute to the creation and maintenance of data pipelines for data integration and analysis. Help troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to ensure the smooth operation of ongoing projects. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other activities to contribute to project ideas and innovations. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Strong analytical skills with a passion for working with data. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, especially for data analysis tasks. Basic knowledge of data analysis tools, such as SQL, Excel, or data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI. Familiarity with statistical methods and techniques for data analysis. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to diverse audiences. A willingness to learn and develop new skills in data analysis, machine learning, and other emerging technologies. Preferred Qualifications: Previous internship or academic project experience involving data analysis. Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). Familiarity with machine learning concepts and tools is a plus.
