Chief Accountant (India)

Job Responsibilities

Accrue and account for salaries, interest, taxes, and other related expenses.

Perform monthly closing procedures and execute month-end closing checklists.

Handle statutory tax filings and compliance.

Conduct full-scope internal audits of the company's accounting books, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), expenses, inventory, and fixed assets.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), as well as management reports and business performance analyses; present financial results to senior management.

Provide financial and business compliance guidance, oversee internal controls, and support enterprise risk management.

Act as a key communication bridge among subordinates, senior management, internal departments, external agents, and government authorities.

Submit statutory filings to government authorities in a timely manner, including AOC-4 (Financial Statements) and MGT-7 (Annual Return).

Manage calculation, filing, and administration of all applicable taxes, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax.

Liaise with and respond to inspections and audits conducted by customs, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.

Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements & Qualifications

Strong accounting expertise with the ability to independently manage end-to-end accounting operations; Certified Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.

In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation, with exposure to international taxation; familiarity with the IndiaChina Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) is a strong advantage.

Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP systems such as Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime, SAP, or equivalent.

Proficient in English as a working language; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis and reporting tools.
