Chemist

As a Chemist in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) projects based in Bhubaneswar, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, testing, and analyzing water quality parameters. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine water sample testing for physical, chemical, and biological parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, BOD, hardness, and alkalinity. You will be tasked with identifying deviations from quality standards and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will be involved in optimizing chemical dosing for treatment processes, monitoring the performance of filtration, sedimentation, and disinfection systems, and providing insights to enhance operational efficiency. Maintaining accurate records of test results, calibration logs, and process reports will be essential, along with preparing compliance reports for regulatory submissions. In terms of qualifications, you should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in water/wastewater analysis within WTP, STP, or ETP projects. Familiarity with ISO standards and environmental regulations is advantageous. Proficiency in water and wastewater testing techniques, knowledge of treatment processes and equipment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prepare detailed reports are key attributes for success in this role. Your attention to detail, commitment to quality and safety, as well as strong time management and organizational skills will be valuable assets. The work environment will primarily be laboratory and plant-based, with occasional fieldwork and the possibility of working in shifts based on operational requirements.
