As a Chemist in the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) projects based in Bhubaneswar, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, testing, and analyzing water quality parameters. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine water sample testing for physical, chemical, and biological parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, BOD, hardness, and alkalinity. As a Chemist specializing in water and wastewater treatment processes, you will play a crucial role in conducting various chemical analyses to ensure the effective treatment of water and wastewater samples. Your responsibilities will include performing laboratory tests, optimizing treatment processes, monitoring biological systems, ensuring quality control, managing data, and collaborating with plant operators and engineers to enhance overall efficiency. In terms of laboratory analysis, you will be tasked with conducting both routine and advanced chemical analyses on water and wastewater samples. This includes assessing parameters such as ion analysis, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS), Oxygen Uptake Rate (OUR), Sludge Volume Index (SVI), pH, alkalinity, hardness, and other physicochemical parameters. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing jar tests to simulate coagulation, flocculation, and sedimentation processes, with the aim of optimizing chemical dosages and pH levels for efficient treatment. Your expertise will be crucial in assisting with the selection and dosage calculation of coagulants, flocculants, and disinfectants to improve treatment efficiency. Moreover, you will be tasked with monitoring and analyzing biological treatment parameters to ensure optimal microbial activity and system performance.
