An experienced Transport Planner/Modeller is required to join our established Highways & Drainage team which serves the UK private development and public sector markets. The UK Development transport team offers clients a wide range of multi-disciplinary services including transport modelling of local junctions and signalised networks (VISSIM, Paramics, TRANSYT, LINSIG, JUNCTIONS 8), pedestrians (LEGION, VISWALK) and regional / strategic transport systems (VISUM, SATURN). The wider team also undertakes development planning work involving site appraisals, transport assessments, master planning, public transport studies and public consultation. The appointed candidate will be supporting the successful transport planning teams which are working on a wide variety of high profile projects in London, across the UK and internationally. They will be involved in the development and application of transport models, junction traffic junction design and analysis and providing support services for the submission of Transport Assessment reports. There will also be opportunities to work with modellers across WSP UK offices on traffic and pedestrian modelling, data analysis, and transport planning projects, with potential for international work also. The candidate will work with experienced strategic and micro- simulation modellers who are at the cutting edge of modelling software application. The successful candidate would be expected to expand their role in the future to include management of projects and development / training of staff in Noida/ Bengaluru to grow the capability. The role presents an excellent opportunity to progress your career and work within a successful team whilst at the same time growing the transport modelling capability in the Noida office to support the UK lead Development discipline. There will also be the opportunity to travel to our UK offices to work face to face with the UK project teams as required Strategic modelling using Saturn or VISUM software. Understanding of supporting tools e.g. GIS, Excel VBA and Python Detailed knowledge to UK Transport Planning and modeling guidelines Understanding of software’s theories and limitations Support the successful delivery of high quality projects on time and to budgets Conduct required checks and reviews of iCRC team’s analysis and designs Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables Coordinate with Senior Engineers and support graduates in the team Research and review design options for both technical and economic impact Support line manager in planning resource needs and escalate as required if there are resource or utilization concerns Provide feedback to line manager on the team’s performance and development requirements In conjunction with line manager identify, assess and manage technical project risk Support the company’s approach to sustainability Attend and contribute in team and project meetings Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline Feedback on all business development opportunities
