Role Description: SMS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with DGCA regulations. This role ensures a proactive approach to safety risk management, promotes a strong safety culture, and oversees safety reporting, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives. SMS Development & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain the SMS framework in accordance with regulatory standards Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and manuals. Ensure SMS integration across all operational departments (flight operations, maintenance, ground handling, etc.). 2. Risk Management & Hazard Identification: Lead safety risk assessments and hazard identification processes. Analyze safety data (reports, audits, flight data) to identify trends and mitigate risks. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to reduce safety risks. 3. Safety Reporting & Investigation: Manage the safety reporting system (voluntary and mandatory reports). Oversee incident/accident investigations and root cause analysis. Ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities when required. 4. Compliance & Auditing: Ensure SMS compliance with regulatory audits Conduct internal safety audits and inspections. Prepare for and support external safety audits. 5. Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring: Monitor SMS performance through Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) Maintain Safety Performance Targets (SPTs) Prepare safety performance reports for senior management and regulators. Utilize safety data tools (e.g., Flight Data Monitoring, , FOQA). Skills : Strong analytical and risk assessment skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
