As an Assistant Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in supporting the lead mechanic in various tasks related to routine maintenance, vehicle preparation, and repair support. Additionally, you will assist in more complex repairs such as reassembling mechanical parts and replacing worn or damaged components. In terms of routine maintenance and basic repairs, you will be involved in fundamental tasks like changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires to uphold the health of the vehicles. You will also support in reassembling mechanical components post repairs and installing new parts as directed by the lead mechanic. Moreover, you will assist in basic repairs like replacing spark plugs and changing brake pads under the supervision of the lead mechanic. Supporting the lead mechanic will be a key part of your role, where you will prepare vehicles for service, provide necessary tools and supplies, maintain a clean work area, and document repairs accurately. You will also assist in managing parts inventory, ordering parts as needed, and communicating with customers to provide information about repair processes as guided by the lead mechanic. To excel in this position, a background in Motor Mechanic, Diploma, ITI, any Trades, 10th, or 12th education is preferred.
