UI/UX Lead for Drone GCS & Fleet Management Software JOB TITLE : UI/UX Lead JOB LOCATION : Pune DESIGNATION : Lead DIVISION / DEPARTMENT : UI/UX JOB PURPOSE We are seeking a visionary and hands-on UI/UX Lead or Manager to own the design and user experience strategy for our drone ground control station (GCS) and fleet management platform. This role combines product thinking, human-centered design, and system-level UX to create interfaces that are not just functional but intuitive, safe, and delightful to use. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design lifecycle for web, desktop, and tablet-based GCS and fleet software 2. Design operator dashboards, mission planning workflows, live telemetry views, and map interfaces 3. Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma or Adobe XD 4. Collaborate closely with product managers, drone pilots, and developers to define intuitive interactions 5. Conduct contextual research with users (e.g. field teams, drone operators, mission planners) 6. Optimize information hierarchy for real-time monitoring, alerts, mission logs, and fleet health 7. Ensure a cohesive design language across modules including video feed, map overlays, telemetry, battery management, and mission planner 8. Lead and mentor a small design team (2–3 designers), and contribute individually when needed 9. Work with the frontend team to implement and QA UI components using design systems 10. Champion usability, accessibility, and safety-critical UX patterns relevant to autonomous systems Skills Required 1. Portfolio showcasing dashboards, map-based UI, or control interfaces 2. Experience designing systems with real-time data, geospatial interfaces, or mission planning 3. Strong command of design tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Framer, etc. 4. Ability to create interactive prototypes and design specs for dev handoff 5. Strong UX research, information architecture, and wireframing skills Competitive advantage 1. Familiarity with drone systems, avionics, robotics, or SCADA-like dashboards 2. Understanding of map SDKs like Mapbox, Leaflet, Cesium, or OpenLayers 3. Knowledge of safety-critical UX design patterns or situational awareness principles 4. Experience in designing GCS or telemetry-heavy interfaces for aerospace or defense 5. Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, or 3D visualizations in UX Leadership & Collaboration 1. Guide product design vision for the GCS and drone command platforms 2. Collaborate with stakeholders from software, flight ops, QA, and hardware integration 3. Drive design reviews, usability tests, and feedback loops 4. Advocate for users while balancing engineering and regulatory constraints Personal Attributes 1. Systems thinker with meticulous attention to detail 2.
