Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at our post-acute care facility, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care under the supervision of licensed therapists. Your responsibilities will include assisting in delivering therapy services as outlined in the patient's Plan of Care established by the Occupational Therapist (OTR). You will work closely with the OTR to ensure that patient care aligns with professional standards, organizational guidelines, and federal/state regulations. Documenting all services provided accurately and in a timely manner will be crucial for billing and maintaining therapy records. In addition to direct patient care, you will communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members. Attending educational seminars and workshops will help you stay updated on the latest clinical practices and techniques, enhancing your skills and contributing to patient outcomes. Maintaining a safe environment for both employees and patients will be a top priority. You will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is in good working order and reporting any issues promptly. Participation in care planning meetings, rehabilitation sessions, and family training sessions will be essential to track patient progress and coordinate treatment goals with other team members. To qualify for this role, you must have a minimum of an Associate of Arts in Occupational Therapy Assistant and meet the licensure/certification requirements mandated by the state guidelines. CPR certification is also necessary to ensure readiness in emergency situations. While prior experience in occupational therapy is preferred, recent graduates from an Occupational Therapy Assistant Program will also be considered for this position.
