Job Summary: The Operations Manager for GHG Verification will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the GHG verification department. This includes managing verification projects, ensuring compliance with ISO 14065 and applicable GHG program requirements (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard, CDM, ISO 14064), leading internal teams, and supporting accreditation and quality management processes. Key Responsibilities: Project & Client Management: Oversee the end-to-end execution of GHG verification projects. Coordinate with clients to define scopes, deliverables, and timelines. Allocate resources and assign competent verifiers and technical reviewers. Monitor project timelines, risks, and budgets to ensure timely delivery. Operational Oversight: Ensure implementation of ISO 14065 and ISO/IEC 17029-based quality management systems. Maintain and improve standard operating procedures and verification workflows. Ensure impartiality and conflict-of-interest safeguards are upheld in all engagements. Interface with accreditation bodies for audits, surveillance visits, and corrective actions. Team Leadership & Capacity Building: Supervise, mentor, and support the development of GHG verifiers, validators, and technical reviewers. Identify skill gaps and coordinate training programs for continuous team improvement. Support onboarding of new staff and subcontracted verifiers. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all verification activities meet applicable GHG program requirements. Review and maintain verification records, contracts, and quality documentation. Coordinate internal and external audits; lead root cause analysis and CAPA implementation. Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the point of contact for key clients and partners. Support proposal writing, tender submissions, and program applications. Participate in external forums and stay current with developments in carbon markets and climate regulations. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field. Experience: 8–10 years of experience in GHG verification, sustainability consulting, or carbon accounting. Proven experience managing verification or audit teams in a technical or accredited environment. Familiarity with ISO 14064, ISO 14065, ISO 14066, and other relevant climate protocols. Skills: Strong project management and leadership capabilities. In-depth understanding of GHG accounting and verification frameworks. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and technical teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in MS Office, GHG calculation tools, and document control systems. Certifications (Preferred): Lead Verifier or Technical Reviewer qualification under an accredited GHG program. ISO 14064 or ISO 14065 auditor training. Travel Requirement: Occasional travel for client meetings, audits, or verification site visits as needed.
