We are looking for a bright and exceptional OpenStack Engineer based out of Hyderabad or any other location across India. NOTE: ** Only Immediate joiners are accepted. Roles and Responsibilities. Managing Compute node operations (Compute create, delete, evacuate, migrate). Monitoring and managing redhat and open source openstack cloud. Should have knowledge of Backing up, upgrade and restoration of OpenStack cloud and updates patching. Managing storage and networking services (Ceph storage configuration management and neutron service.). Provisioning of OpenStack components according to client requirements. Troubleshooting issues related to core OpenStack components like nova, neutron and cinder Managing infrastructure security and user security and managing application deployment resources. Well versed in Ceph storage operations (Ceph user management, monitoring and optimization of Ceph services). Performance monitoring and optimization of cloud. Experience in OpenStack deployment using tripleo deployment method is Mandatory. Desired Candidate Profile 2-5 years of experience in open-source or RedHat OpenStack cloud. Strong skills in provisioning, managing and optimizing OpenStack key components like keystone, nova, cinder, etc. Experience with Ceph storage, cloud upgrade and patching required. Knowledge of telemetry service. Strong knowledge and experience in Linux operating system preferably RedHat Linux. Your Role and Responsibilities : You will be part of the Storage Development Business of the Infrastructure organization with the following key responsibilitiesResponsibilities: You will handle the most highly escalated cases by our support/L2 teams to ensure they receive top-level help to provide better customer experience on their most impactful issues. You will be responsible for providing help to L2 support engineers. You will be part of Ceph development teams where you must fix customer-reported issues to ensure our customers and partners receive an enterprise-class product. You will work to exceed customer expectations by providing outstanding sustaining service and ensuring that regular updates are provided to L2 teams. You will need to understand our customer's and partner's needs and work with product management teams on driving these features and fixes directly into the product. Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Bachelor's Degree Required technical and professional expertise Required Professional and Technical Expertise : 7+ Years of experience working as a L3, sustaining or development engineer or directly related experience. Senior-level Linux Storage System administration experience, including system installation, configuration, maintenance, scripting via BASH, and utilizing Linux tooling for advanced log debugging. Advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills, with a passion for problem-solving and investigation. Must be able to work and collaborate with a global team and strive to share knowledge with peers. 3+ years of working with Ceph/Openshift/Kubernetes technologies. Strong scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) and programming skills (C/C++). Able to send upstream patches to fix customer-reported issues. In-depth knowledge of Ceph storage architecture, components, and deployment. Hands-on experience with configuring and tuning Ceph clusters. Understanding of RADOS, CephFS, and RBD (Rados Block Device). Preferred technical and professional experience Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise : Knowledge of Opensource development, and working experience in Opensource projects. Certifications related to Ceph storage and performance testing are a plus. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their storage services. Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging frameworks. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Knowledge of AI/ML, exposure to Gen AI

Extensive knowledge of Openstack (Redhat / Community) Clouds. Prior experience in Software Defined Network (Neutron, Contrail) and Software Defined Storage (Rehat Ceph). Should be well versed with Openstack APIs and their integration with external applications. Exposure in Openstack Cloud Automation by means of Heat Templates, Terraform, Scripting Must have deployed multiple Openstack clouds Knowledge of Information security management and Identity/Access Management Solutions (LDAP, AD, SSO, Keycloak) Must have experience in migrating workloads from one cloud to another Responsible for infrastructure tasks including provisioning hypervisors, connectivity issues, upgrades, and day-to-day issues and audits. Strong Linux OS commands and shell script skills - especially sed and awk (Doesn’t have to be administrator) Strong working experience on Ansible/Terraform Designs, builds, administers, maintains, and troubleshoots complex OpenStack environments. Troubleshoots problems and take corrective action on a timely and effective basis. Provides technical support to internal and external users (customer facing/Internal Team). Works appropriate level tickets in queue. Monitors and provides maintenance for all related infrastructure. Works with vendors to resolve hardware and software issues. Gathers data for capacity planning and performance analysis of infrastructure. Develops projects to improve performance, efficiency, experience, capacity, etc. of environments. Acts as the primary interface for the client or project manager for basic to intermediate projects. Implements large, complex enterprise-class solutions using OpenStack technologies. Performs regular checks of system components for errors and application of necessary corrective action. Ability to develop detailed project plans and work breakdown structures. Ability to develop Architecture Specification deliverables that map customer business requirements to solution / technologies. Create and implement a solution roadmap with bill of material and select the right infrastructure and technology platform or product based on in-depth knowledge of one and broad knowledge of other technologies and/or alliance product landscape. Good Written and Spoken communication skills. Good to have IT Architecture and Cloud Development skills in Public Clouds (Azure, Google). Desired to have: Open Stack / Azure / GCP Certified Admins Experience in Ceph Administration. Strong knowledge of UNIX systems (Linux, Redhat, Solaris , Ubuntu, Amla, Kalelinux). Preferred Skills: 1. Key Responsibilities 1. Debugging and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex software issues within OpenStack environments (particularly those running on Ubuntu), including networking, compute, and storage. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to Kubernetes container orchestration, including pod failures, service outages, and networking issues. Debug and analyze issues with Docker containers and their interaction with the underlying system. Analyze and resolve issues related to Ceph distributed storage, including data replication, performance tuning, and storage availability. Work on Octavia load balancers to troubleshoot L2/L3 networking issues and ensure reliable load balancing for cloud-native applications. 2. Incident and Problem Management: Lead incident resolution efforts for platform outages or performance degradation, coordinating across different teams to ensure swift recovery. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide long-term fixes for recurring or critical issues. Document incident postmortems to prevent future occurrences and improve processes. 3. Performance Optimization: Analyze performance bottlenecks across the cloud stack, including OpenStack components, Kubernetes, and Ceph, and implement optimizations to improve reliability and efficiency. Optimize networking setups, including Octavia load balancers, to enhance cloud service delivery. Monitor and improve containerized application performance and scaling across Docker and Kubernetes clusters. 4. Cloud Platform Maintenance: Assist in upgrading and maintaining cloud infrastructure, ensuring that all components (Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, etc.) are kept secure and up to date. Participate in the deployment of software updates, security patches, and configuration changes in a controlled manner with minimal downtime. 5. Automation and Tooling: Build and maintain automation scripts for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving cloud platform issues, focusing on OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, and Docker environments. Implement and optimize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to improve the deployment and configuration of cloud resources. Required Skills and Qualifications 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms, specifically focusing on Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Ceph, Octavia load balancers, and Docker. Strong debugging skills and familiarity with cloud and software debugging tools. Experience with networking, compute, and storage components in OpenStack. Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). Familiarity with Ceph distributed storage solutions and troubleshooting storage issues. Experience with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch. Solid understanding of networking principles, including L2/L3 networking, load balancing (Octavia), and SDN (Software Defined Networking). Proficient in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or equivalent for automation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
