Role & responsibilities 1. Assisting in Procedures Prepare the procedure room and maintain sterile fields to support physicians during invasive interventions like catheterizations, angioplasty, stenting, pacemaker or electrophysiology procedures. Scrub in, drape patients, handle sterile supplies, anesthetize insertion sites, and assist physicians actively during procedures. 2. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Set up, operate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy units and monitoring systems. Perform preventive maintenance and quality checks, and report any equipment malfunction. 3. Patient Monitoring & Safety Continuously monitor patient vitals (ECG, pressure waves, EKG, hemodynamic data) during procedures, and alert the medical team to any changes. Administer contrast media or medications as directed by physicians, and observe for adverse reactions. Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols and infection control measures. 4. Documentation & Communication Accurately record and document procedural data, logs, vitals, inventory usage, and patient records. Educate and communicate procedure details and care instructions to patients and families in a clear, empathetic manner. 5. Post-Procedure Care & Lab Management Assist in patient recovery immediately after procedures; monitor for complications, help with patient transfer, and cleanup. Restock supplies, sterilize instruments, and turnover the room efficiently for upcoming cases. Participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives within the Cath Lab.
