As a Marine Officer (Boarding Officer Manager) at our Jamnagar location, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of crude oil and cargo between ship and shore. You will be managing the boarding operations in coordination with relevant teams while strictly adhering to safety standards and regulations. Your key responsibilities will include conducting initial ullaging, sampling, and cargo calculations for accurate quantity measurement of cargo on crude tankers. You will also be responsible for verifying vessel experience factors, performing final tank inspections, and calculating Remaining On Board (ROB) through the wedge formula. Maintaining effective communication between the vessel, pull back tug, and shore, as well as monitoring the Single Point Mooring (SPM) position, will be crucial aspects of your role. Additionally, you will ensure that the SPM and its associated equipment are in good condition and functioning properly. Documentation and reporting are essential parts of this role, where you will monitor and reconcile hourly cargo figures with shore, complete cargo documentation efficiently, and prepare monthly reports on cargo activities. Safety and compliance will be a top priority, as you perform periodic safety checks during cargo operations, monitor ship-shore safety checklists, and ensure compliance with crude oil washing requirements. To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, with at least 1 year of experience as a cargo surveyor in a cargo surveying company. Functional competencies such as planning, decision-making, and communication skills, along with behavioral competencies like attention to detail, safety mindset, and adaptability, are crucial for success. Your success in this role will be measured by metrics like Cargo Quantification Accuracy, Timesheet Validation, and Loss Control/Outturn Quantities. You will collaborate with internal teams such as Marine Operations, HR, Finance, Legal, and Health & Safety, as well as external stakeholders like vendors and regulatory bodies. By following all relevant policies, procedures, and processes, and staying updated with leading practices and trends, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and procedures.
