Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Interventional Cardiologist

Diagnosis:

Treatment Planning:
Creating plans involving medication, diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes.
Patient Care:
Managing acute and chronic cardiovascular issues like angina, heart attacks, heart failure, high blood pressure, and arrhythmias.
Procedures:
Performing or assisting with cardiac catheterizations and pacemaker implants.
Referrals:
Referring complex cases to cardiothoracic surgeons or other specialists.
Prevention:
Conducting screenings and educating patients on preventing heart disease.
Record Keeping:
Maintaining accurate patient charts and records.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Deep knowledge of general medicine, biology, anatomy, and cardiology.
Proficiency in operating diagnostic equipment (EKG, etc.).
Strong communication skills for patient, family, and team interaction.
Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.

Work Environment

Hospitals, specialized cardiac centers.
Involves long hours, nights, weekends, and being on call.
