Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Layup Technician to join our production team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing molds, performing manual and vacuum-assisted layup of carbon fiber fabrics, and ensuring the highest standards of quality in the composite manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities Prepare molds and tools for composite layup, including surface cleaning, release agent application, and material setup. Cut, measure, and place carbon fiber fabric, prepreg, or resin-infused material into molds according to layup schedules. Perform hand layup, vacuum bagging, and resin infusion processes. Operate autoclave/oven curing equipment under supervision. Maintain accuracy in ply orientation, fiber alignment, and thickness to meet engineering drawings and specifications. Perform trimming, sanding, polishing, and finishing of cured parts. Inspect finished components for defects, measure tolerances, and document production details. Follow health, safety, and cleanliness standards in the workshop. Work collaboratively with design, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Qualifications & Skills Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Composites / Production Engineering (or equivalent). 13 years of experience in composites or carbon fiber layup preferred (freshers with training also considered). Strong hands-on skills in cutting, layup, and finishing of composite parts. Knowledge of vacuum bagging, resin infusion, or autoclave processes is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layup schedules. Attention to detail, precision, and commitment to quality. Good physical stamina and ability to work with hands-on tools.
