Job Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Power Plant Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a B.E/B.Tech degree and substantial hands-on experience in a 500 MW or similar capacity power plant. You will be responsible for ensuring disciplined operations, maintaining safety standards, and optimizing productivity while managing quality, time, and costs. Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Oversee the on and off-shift operations of various boiler systems, including CFBC and AFBC units, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. Facilitate Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities using protocols such as work permit systems, positive isolation, and ESI/ENSAFE safety measures. Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to protections and interlocks for both boilers and turbines. Conduct monthly safety meetings and daily toolbox talks to promote a culture of safety and enhance 5S standards. Equipment Management: Troubleshoot issues related to turbines and boilers, effectively resolving problems that cause tripping with relevant departments. Prepare boilers for light-up, hydraulic tests, and ensure safe startup/shutdown of the thermal power plant. Emergency Response: Manage emergencies such as blackouts, turbine trips, and boiler trips, ensuring swift resolution. Project Operations: Handle complete project operations, including planning, resource utilization, operation, maintenance, and manpower management. Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth operations and job distribution. Performance Analysis: Analyze generation reports and prepare follow-up schedules during plant shutdowns. Monitor and optimize the performance of parallel operation controls for multiple generation units. Construction Planning: Oversee utility gallery construction planning, cable gallery erection, and installation of utility gas and water supply lines. Manage the lifting schemes, manpower distribution, and job alignment with vendor workforces. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain operational documentation, including fault analysis and job reports. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field. Minimum 6 to 16 years of experience in power plant operations or maintenance, specifically in a 500 MW or similar capacity facility. Strong understanding of power generation processes, equipment, and systems. Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in power plant operations. Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
