Senior Accountant (Full-Time) We are a fractional CFO and accounting firm specializing in construction, real estate, and professional services. We help businesses streamline financial operations, strengthen cash flow, and scale profitably. We are seeking a Senior Accountant with strong construction industry experience to join our growing team. This role is critical in managing client financials, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting CFO-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities · AIA Billing & Construction Accounting · Prepare, review, and process AIA billings and related documentation. · Manage contract billing, retainage, and compliance with client requirements. · Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR) · Oversee invoice processing, vendor payments, and subcontractor compliance. · Monitor collections, prepare AR aging, and ensure timely payments from clients. · Payroll Processing · Manage and process payroll for multiple clients across different states. · Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. · Prepare payroll reports and assist with year-end filings (W-2, 1099, etc.). · Bank Reconciliations & Cash Management · Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts. · Support cash flow management and reporting for client accounts. · Month-End Close & Financial Reporting · Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. · Generate and review financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). · Assist with budget-to-actual reporting and variance analysis. Qualifications Education & Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. · 5+ years of accounting experience, minimum 2 years in the construction industry. · Strong knowledge of AIA billing, retainage, and job-cost accounting. · Experience processing payroll for multiple clients · Proficiency in AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and month-end close. · Experience with construction/project accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks, Procore, or similar). · Advanced Excel skills; ability to create pivot tables, analyze data, and build financial reports. · Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously. Skills & Attributes: Strong understanding of AP, AR, and payroll processes. Exceptional communication and client service skills to work directly with business owners and leadership teams. Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Self-motivated with strong time management skills—able to work independently and meet deadlines. Flexible and adaptable—thrives in a fast-paced, remote, team-oriented environment.
