Your key responsibilities will include receiving, reviewing, and preparing Customer request for quotes (RFQs) for the estimating group, assisting in the preparation of technical quotes and proposals, assessing the validity and feasibility of RFQs, providing clarification or alternatives as required, determining if RFQs align with Select Tool core competencies and product offerings, participating in Customer quote technical reviews, reviewing completed quotes for content, accuracy, and pricing, submitting Quotes/Proposals to customers and providing status follow-up, as well as participating in price, content, and concept negotiations to secure business opportunities. You will also need to work and communicate in a cross-functional environment with Outside Sales, Account Managers, Program Managers, Purchasing, and Production Staff. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience with Automation, Special Machines, Assembly Systems, Robotics, and TurnKey Productivity Systems. Knowledge of the Automotive OEM and Tier 1 business landscape is essential. Experience in estimating and cost aspects for all product areas including Purchasing, Design, Fabrication, Manufacturing, Assembly, and Controls is required. Direct experience and expertise with Exterior Trim and Body Systems, Interior Trim and Systems, Lighting, and Functional Parts is preferred. Direct experience with Plastic and Metallic Parts Assembly (fastener, riveting, clipping, snapping, etc.), Sonic Welding, Adhesive Apply and Bonding, Punching/Drilling/Routing, Robotics, Leak Testing, End of Line Validation, and Vision Systems is a plus. Moreover, knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, Capacity Studies, Cycle/Tact Times, and Product Volume calculations and metrics will be beneficial for this role. You will drive supplier selection by conducting robust qualification processes. You will assess the capabilities of new and existing suppliers to ensure they can meet product, cost, quality, capacity, and fulfillment requirements. It will be your responsibility to drive improvements using Lean methodologies, supplier scorecards, and supplier audits. You will focus on ensuring supplier compliance, driving systematic problem-solving, and implementing process improvement plans to deliver value. Monitoring supplier performance indicators and rankings will also be part of your duties to help suppliers consistently meet or exceed expectations. Developing positive relationships with the QA team, managing engineering and design changes, capacity studies, new product introductions, and transfers will be crucial. You will also lead investigations of major problems and special projects, fostering relationships with suppliers and the supply chain for product development and parts procurement. Additionally, you will contribute to continuous improvement activities and ensure compliance with APQP/PPAP & Run at Rate, Safe Launch at the supplier. In this role, you will provide technical expertise to customers and licensees to resolve technical issues related to product supply and test facilities. Supplier training and relationship management will also be key responsibilities. Your experience in quality, manufacturing, and project management will be valuable, along with your ability to develop and implement vendor qualification processes. You should be proficient in augmenting procedures, formats, SQA manuals, and have strong skills in report and procedure writing with excellent presentation abilities. Understanding manufacturing processes such as air conditioner manufacturing, plastic molding, stamping, and tubes will be beneficial. Strong analytical skills and field failure analysis capabilities are also required for this role.,
