As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Axle & Transmission for the Automotive industry, you will be responsible for key deliverables related to New Product Development. Your role will involve working on projects through APQP and CDMM DE, ensuring adherence to project requirements. Your responsibilities will include possessing a deep understanding of gear raw materials, forging processes, gear parameters, gear cutting techniques, heat treatment, axle manufacturing processes, and CV shaft. It is essential for you to be well-versed in interpreting drawings, DIN standards, and gear cutting tools such as HOB and Grinding cutter, along with other machining processes. You should have hands-on experience in developing high-precision quality gears and be capable of defining product and process requirements. Mapping the supplier base and conducting technical synthesis and sign-off with stakeholders will be part of your daily activities. Additionally, you will be required to share RFQs, conduct Manufacturing Feasibility studies, and plan and execute FTG activities. Establishing run rates and capacities as per volume projections, organizing VAVE workshops for cost reduction, and ensuring compliance with PFMEA, Control Plan, Quality tools, and GD&T standards are crucial aspects of this role. The ideal candidate for this position should hold a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 4 to 6 years of relevant industry experience. Knowledge of sourcing and developing DIN6 quality gears, axles, and CV drive shafts is preferred. Familiarity with reliability, DVP&R, warranty finalization with suppliers, PPAP, APQP, SPC, CMVR regulations, and conducting Make vs. Buy analysis will be advantageous.
