In this role, as a Capacity Planning Engineer for Mainframe at DTCC, you will collaborate with a team responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting mainframe processing capacity. Your responsibilities will include collecting, processing, and validating system resource data and business volume data for future analysis using data science principles. You must possess a fundamental understanding of Mainframe technology, be familiar with sources and tools used for data collection, validation, and processing, and have a strong background in descriptive statistics to derive insights from raw data using SAS software in mainframe and distributed environments. Your primary responsibilities will involve monitoring and analyzing mainframe system performance and capacity trends, collecting, processing, and validating large datasets from various sources, applying descriptive statistical techniques to interpret raw data, utilizing SAS software to generate reports and insights for capacity planning decisions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and relevance, and contributing to the development of tools and processes that enhance data collection and analysis. Qualifications for this role include a minimum of 6 years of related experience, a Bachelor's degree in a mathematics/statistics subject area preferred, or equivalent work experience. Key talents needed for success in this role include a foundational understanding of mainframe systems, proficiency in SAS or similar statistical software, MS Office skills with a focus on intermediate PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, excellent analytical skills encompassing data exploration and analysis, a strong foundation in Descriptive Statistics, and an understanding of mainframe technology and components.,
