The role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of raw materials, APIs, excipients, packaging, engineering items, and indirect materials, supporting uninterrupted operations, strong vendor networks, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards — with an emphasis on dermatology product lines. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business and manufacturing goals. Forecast and plan material requirements in coordination with production, planning, and sales teams. Drive cost savings initiatives while ensuring uninterrupted supply chains. Centralized Procurement Oversight: Manage centralized procurement operations across all manufacturing plants and corporate/office locations. Standardize procurement policies and processes across sites for improved efficiency, compliance, and cost control. Monitor site-specific procurement needs and ensure alignment with centralized procurement plans. Vendor Management & Development: Identify, evaluate, and manage a robust network of qualified suppliers, especially for APIs, excipients, and dermatology-specific ingredients. Lead negotiations, develop strategic supplier partnerships, and conduct periodic vendor audits. Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements through regular supplier assessments. Operational Procurement: Oversee daily procurement of direct and indirect materials, capital goods, and engineering spares. Coordinate closely with QA/QC, Stores, and Production to ensure timely delivery and acceptance of materials. Support new product development with sourcing of specialized and innovative ingredients. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to all applicable pharma regulations and guidelines (GMP, WHO, USFDA, CDSCO, etc.). Maintain procurement documentation including contracts, POs, vendor records, and audit logs. Inventory & Cost Management: Collaborate with inventory and finance teams to manage optimal stock levels and minimize working capital. Analyse purchase price variances, identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive continuous improvement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the procurement point of contact for all business units including Manufacturing, QA/QC, R&D, Finance, Sales & Marketing and Admin and for all office locations. Engage with leadership on procurement planning, risk mitigation, and business continuity strategies. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing procurement team.
