A solid understanding of color theory, face shapes, and lighting effects on makeup is crucial, along with attention to detail and a creative flair. You should be able to work effectively under pressure and in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent communication and teamwork skills. Possessing a certification or degree from a recognized beauty/makeup academy would be advantageous. Preferred skills for this position include experience with high-definition (HD) and airbrush makeup, basic hairstyling knowledge, familiarity with skincare routines and products for different skin types, and the ability to work with a diverse range of skin tones and facial features.
