As a skilled CAM Developer with 2 to 5 years of experience in Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), you will play a crucial role in developing CAM programs for CNC machines using software such as Mastercam, NX CAM, PowerMill, or equivalent. Your passion for precision machining, CNC programming, and optimizing manufacturing processes will be key in enhancing productivity by optimizing tool paths, cutting parameters, and machining strategies. Collaborating with design engineers, you will interpret 3D models, 2D drawings, and GD&T requirements to select the right cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material properties. Ensuring accuracy through NC code verification and simulation will be a part of your responsibilities, along with troubleshooting machining issues and implementing process improvements. Working closely with the production team, you will ensure the smooth execution of CAM programs while maintaining and updating CAM libraries, post processors, and best machining practices. To excel in this role, you should hold a B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or related fields, along with 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in CAM programming & CNC machining. Proficiency in CAM software like Mastercam, NX CAM, PowerMill, or EdgeCAM is essential, as well as a strong knowledge of CNC operations, G-code, M-code, and toolpath strategies. An understanding of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and machining tolerances is required, and experience in mold making, die manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive components is a plus. Your ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues effectively, coupled with good communication and teamwork skills, will be crucial for success in this role. Experience with multi-axis machining, knowledge of PLM systems & CAD software, and exposure to CNC automation & process optimization are considered good-to-have skills.
