Role & responsibilities Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced uPVC Profiles Tooling Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing extrusion tooling (dies and calibration units) used in the production of uPVC profiles for windows, doors, and other building applications. The role requires deep knowledge of uPVC extrusion processes, CAD software, and practical experience with tool manufacturing and testing. Key Responsibilities: Design extrusion dies and calibration tooling for uPVC profiles based on product specifications and performance requirements. Work closely with product design, R&D, and production teams to ensure optimal profile design for manufacturability. Perform simulations and validations of tool designs using CAD and analysis software. Collaborate with toolmakers and vendors during tool manufacturing and prototyping phases. Participate in tool trials, testing, and optimization to ensure consistent extrusion quality and dimensional accuracy. Analyze tooling issues and implement engineering solutions to improve tool life, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality. Prepare detailed drawings, BOMs, and documentation for tooling projects. Support continuous improvement efforts in tooling design and production processes. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Preferred candidate profile Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, Polymer Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in tooling design for uPVC extrusion (window and door profiles, etc.). Strong understanding of extrusion processes, especially for thermoplastics like uPVC. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PTC Creo). Knowledge of CAE/simulation tools (e.g., Moldex3D, ANSYS) is an advantage. Experience in die maintenance, troubleshooting, and profile quality optimization. Skills & Competencies: Strong mechanical design and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of materials used in uPVC tooling (steel grades, surface treatments, etc.). Familiarity with ISO and quality standards related to extrusion and tooling. Good communication and teamwork skills. Detail-oriented with strong documentation practices. Preferred: Experience with co-extrusion tooling design. Exposure to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
