Job Description

As an Associate in the Legacy Modernization team at Cognizant, your role involves working on consulting projects related to modernizing legacy systems. You will be responsible for various deliverables, including technical assessment of applications, tools development, and application data analysis. Additionally, you will customize frameworks for different system applications based on their respective technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Actively participate in the implementation phase of projects, providing guidance and best practices to enhance the quality of deliverables to clients. - Possess prior experience in Modernization Projects or partnering with solutions such as Microfocus, Heirloom, Tmaxsoft, AWS Blu Age, GCP G4 for added advantage. - Possess hands-on experience in key technologies such as CA Gen, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS. - Have knowledge of how CA Gen applications integrate with MQ for messaging and distributed systems like Java and .NET. - Familiarity with CA Gen Client Server Encyclopedia and Host Encyclopedia is required. - Conduct assessments, develop deliverables, and analyze AS-IS legacy systems. - Visualize and propose solutions for legacy technologies, depict different types of architecture, and provide thought leadership in consulting projects. - Exposure to various cloud platforms and experience in evaluating products for legacy modernization are valuable assets. - Lead and manage development teams, provide architectural guidance, and potentially develop prototypes for complex solutions. - Demonstrate innovation and automation skills in requirements gathering, tool development, and third-party tool evaluation for legacy modernization projects. - Utilize soft skills such as effective communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and client handling capabilities. - Possess knowledge of secondary skills like Assembler, PL/I, and various mainframe software. - Troubleshoot technical issues and utilize tools like Xpediter for debugging.
